Assignment #2 The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty

After Mrs. Mitty came out of the drugstore, they climbed into their automobile, Walter fastened his seat belt, turned on the windscreen wipers and carefully pulled away from the curb. As they drove out of Waterbury he noticed that he had hit a small dog, Walters face went as white as a ghost he was caught between a rock and a hard place. Uncertain what to do he carefully got out of the car told his wife to continue home without him and watched her disappear into the distance. Walter then noticed that the dog was as cold as ice, he didn't want to beat around the bush so he decided that at the crack of dawn he would find a place to buried the dog. Poor little thing he thought this little dog is so young and has already bite the dust...kicked the can... pushing up the daisy's. It was the dead on winter so Walter thought if he just covered the dog up with some snow no one will notice and he can come back in the morning. So Walter bent down sprinkled some snow on him and began to walk home. Half way there he had a wave of guilt over himself and decided to turn back to finish the job. He glanced at a store on his way back to the small dog and even though he was only making ends meat  he wanted to buy a small box to put the dog in for the burial. After buying the box he went back to the patch of snow, dusted it off, placed the dog in the box and went to a near by tree. Once in a blue moon he thought to himself you find a special tree like this one that is as old as dirt. He dug up the hole dropped the dog in and said the grass is always greener on the other side  and as soon as he finished covering up the hole he had made Walter heard a slight whimper come from the ground...

Assignment #1 If You Could Transport Yourself Anywhere..

In 1912 the world was shocked to hear the tragedy of the Titanic sinking in the Atlantic ocean. On April 14th, 1912 the Titanic struck an iceberg that drove it to its doom, the vessel was hit on the starboard side causing the ship to buckle under the pressure and start to snap in many places along the hull and began to go under. Once five compartments were filled with water the craft began to go completely under. On April,15th just after midnight captain Edward J. Smith sent out a distress signal, several ships responded but were to far away to be able to come and help in time. Then the first lifeboat was let out, with only 28 people on it when it had the capacity to hold up to 60, 10 minutes after two more lifeboats, and finally a forth lifeboat with only 12 people leaving the fifth boat with an overload of 70 people on it. With two lifeboats left to be launched the Titanic shattered and snapped into two pieces, there was no hope left the people who did not make it onto a lifeboat they were bound to die. Grievously a total of 1,517  souls were lost that faithful night. An amens sorrow was set upon the world after this dreadful tragedy, but will be learnt from. Now years and years later in 2010 we now know much more intricate work and have learnt from the flaws of the Titanic to make the world more at ease when they choose to travel by ship.
